The Hangi Today we went to watch adults working on the hangi. The pit was over at the fence. When we got there the pit looked cool. It was little and deep. Hangi are about a celebration. The hole was very hot and steamy. It was like a bonfire. There were three men keeping an eye on the fire. Gene, Leonard and Moggy put some trays in the pit. The trays had the food in them. I want a hangi because after when it is over we can have some yummy food and I hope it is yummy. Austin

Pukeko are a funny type of bird. They have long legs and they screech. Pukeko dive and swim and have red beaks. Pukeko are blue and very dark black. They can fly and then dive into the swamp for fish to eat. Austin
